F. Mander, M.L.C., returned to Wellington last evening by the Limited. Eirthday congratulations were extended to the Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. E. H. Potter, by fellow Rotarians at luncheon yesterday. Rev. C. D. Gardiner, of Feildlng, has been elected president of the Baptist Ministers’ Fraternal, and the Rev. Mr. Stuart, of Linwood, secretary. Auckland Rotarians decided yesterday to forward a congratulatory message to Mr and Mrs. W. B. Leyland, who recently celebrated their golden wedding. Sir William Brunton left by the second express for Wellington last evening. He was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Byers. The party is to sail for Sydney by the Uliinaroa on Friday. Mr. Leonard Griffiths, at last evening's annual meeting of the Auckland Nurserymen's Council, was presented by fellow members on the council with an inscribed clock to mark the occasion of his marriage. Dr. Victor Bonney. lecturer in obstetrics at the Middlesex Hospital, London, is to visit New Zealand in January. After attending meetings of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association at Hamilton on February 23 and 24 he will go South and address meetings of the New Zealand Obstetrical Society, which invited him to the country.
