MANUKAU YACHT CLUB

WHARF AT CORNWALLIS A general meeting of the ilanukau Yacht and Motor-Boat Club was held at the clubhouse, Onehunga, last even - ing. There was a large attendance. The Mayor of Onehunga, Mr IV. C. Coldicutt, paid a visit after the council meeting, and advised that the Harbour Board had been approached with reference to extending the Cornwallis Wharf so as to give seven feet of water at low tide. The amount required for this project would be in the vicinity of £6OO, and the Harbour Board would be prepared to find £3OO for yie purpose, the Waitemata County Council £2OO. and the remaining £IOO had been personally guaranteed by Mr. Coldicutt. the Mayor. Several promises of donations have already been guaranteed to the Mayor to help find some of the £IOO, and the Yacht Club proposes to have a special meeting to discuss and deal with the best ways and means of raising a proportion of the required amount.
