TAUPIRI MASONS
INSTALL NEW OFFICERS PLEASANT SOCIAL EVENING (From Our Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, To-day. The Masonic brethren had a record attendance on Friday night when the installation of officers of Lodge Taupiri, No. 118, took place at Huntly. Members of the craft assembled from all parts of the province to meet their esteemed Most Worshipful Bro, Oliver Nicholson, who performed the ceremony, assisted Grand Lodge officers. As; material evidence of the successful function no less a sum than over £IOO was collected for the widows’ and orphans’ fund. The lodge closed at 10.30 p.m. and the members adjourned to the Lyceum Theatre for the banquet. Worshipful Bro. Alex. Shand being the caterer. After the good things on the tables had bc?en done justice to, a happy evening of harmony was indulged in till the early hours. Bro. Reg. Watson, organist, acted as accompanist, and items were given by Right Worshipful Bro. M. Bennie, Bro. M. Penman, W. 8., A. Shand and others. The speeches and toast list were lengthy.
