CHANGE IN PLANS
KINGSFORD SMITH’S SCHEME START IN NOVEMBER Heed. 9.3 a.m. SAN FRANCISCO, Fri. Captain Kingsford Smith, who, with three companions, is shortly to attempt a flight to Australia, announces a change of plan He will not leave for Honolulu until November 3, because he wants the maximum of moonlight. The plane may be taken to Los Angeles next week for the installation of navigation instruments. Captain Smith has been granted by the Department of Commerce a temporary licence which gives the necesary sanction for his plane to traverse
the State air lines The fliers intend to carry out exhaustive tests with a full load over Southern California. The date of the test flight has not yet been announced.—A. and N.Z.
