LANCASTER’S PLANE LEAVES CROYDON
By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. Received 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. CAPTAIN W. N. LANCASTER left the Croydon Airdrome on his journey to Australia, in the Avro-Avian plane Red Rose. He was accompanied by Mrs. Keith Miller, the wife of a well-known Melbourne journalist.
The journey is the longest ever undertaken by a -woman. The route lies across the Continent to Africa along the Imperial airways line to India, thence over Burma, Siam and the Dutch East Indies to Port Darwin. —A. and N.Z.
