HAMILTON, To-day. A .erlocs collision occurred in London Street at 9.15 a.m. between a “Blue” bus and a heavy lorry laden with case benzine. The outcome of the smash was that, three lady passengers were Injured. They were: Mrs. J. W. Belz, of King Street, Fraukton. Mrs. Fenton, of IS Queen's Avenue. An unknown girl passenger. The impact tore off the whole of the cab on the left side and the back of the bus. Only the driver’s seat and the seats on the right side remained. The bus driver was Roy Stanley Beamish, and the lorry driver Noel Brown, carrier. The “Blue” bus was proceeding to-
ward Hamilton on the correct side. When nearing a right-of-way adjoining St. Paul’s Methodist Church the heavy lorry turned across the road in front of the bus to enter the right-of-way and the vehicles met. An accident seemed obvious to the bus driver, who swerved, and the lorry sheared oil the left side of the bus, carrying it completely away. The benzine on the lorry burst and the contents ran on to the road, which was covered with wreckage, and later caught fire when a cigarette butt was dropped. Fortunately the injured passengers were the only bus occupants, otherwise the accident would have been much more serious. They are suffering from shock. Mrs. Fenton was removed to the hospital, and the other two taken home.
