ELLERSLIE CROQUET CLUB

The ladies of the Ellerslie Croquet Club held the last of their card afternoons at Mrs. Eckett’s residence on Wednesday. The afternoon was a great success, there being a record attendance, including visitors from Panraure, Fapatoetoe, Mangere, Otanuhu, and Remuera. Flag 500 was played, resulting in a draw between two tables. During tea the president, Mrs. Meredith, on behalf of the croquet ladies, presented Mrs. Eckett, ex-president, with a chubby umbrella, as a token of their appreciation of the use of her room during the winter months. Mrs. Eckett suitably responded.
