ORANGE BLOSSOMS
A VICTORIAN WEDDING MUNRO—PRIESTLEY St. Mark’s Church, Remuera, was the scene of a charmingly quaint Victorian wedding on Wednesday evening, when Christine Mary, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Priestley, of Remuera, was married by the Rev. G. C. Cruickshank to Leslie Knox, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Colin R. Munro. The bride was given away by her father, while the bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. H. G. Kensington as best man. The bridal gown was exquisitely fashioned from parchment satin, and expressed its Victorian charm with the aid of a slender little bodice and a very bouffant wired skirt of charming length and gracefully uneven hemline. A deep decolletage was filled in with a frilled vest of narrow Valenciennes lace, the same lace appearing in dainty little puff sleeves. Light touches of pearl embroidery gave an added air of charm to the frock, as did the delicately embroidered veil of tulle that fell over it. The veil was attractively caught over each ear with a small spray of orange blossom. The bride’s bouquet was of lilies of the valley. TAKE IN BLOCK BaWr Miss Alison Craig, of Morrinsville. was bridesmaid, and wore a charming frock of taffeta, made on Victorian lines, in a sweetly pretty shade of phlox pink. A quaint and effective touch was given to her frock by the embroidery of forget-me-nots and true lovers’ knots in tiny silver baskets. Silver leaves formed her head-dress, and she carried a dainty posy of forget-me-nots. Mrs. Priestley, the mother of the bride, wore an attractive frock of navy blue- georgette with a deep inset panel of gold lace. Her hat was of blue and
/gold tissue, and she carried a posy of prettily-shaded pansies. Mrs. Colin Munro wore a becoming gown of French grey georgette over crepe faille, finished in a deep tier of hand-painted lace. Her hat was of black crinoline straw' and trimmed with velvet and a crystal ornament.
