PRISON CAMP OFFENCE

ASSAULT ON WARDER (From Cur Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, To-day. Two prisoners from the Rangipo Prison Camp were before the court at Taumarunui yesterday in connection with charges c>f assault. against a warder. Wihri Kemara, a Maori, was charged with striking Warder lEdgar Spratt with his fist and a slasher, and William G. Young with aiding and abetting the Maori. The accused men were both convicted and sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, the terms to be cumulative on the sentences at present being served.
