ST. JOHN’S CHURCH

SOCIAL AT PAPATOETOE St. John's Presbyterian School Hall was the scene of a unique social on Wednesday evening-, when the ladies of the congregation were the guests of the managers of the church. The function was organised as a compliment to the ladies of the church, who have worked so well in its interests. The hall had been very prettily decked with spring- flowers and a very enjoyable programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed by Dr. J. J. Valentine, Mr. Salter, Mr. Ken Dellow, Rev. T. H. Roseveare, Mr. Donnell, and Mr. Zante Woods. Mr. P. E. Suttie occupied the chair. A hearty vote of thanks to the performers, for the splendid programme submitted was enthusiastically carried with acclamation, and a round of community singing led by the Rev. T. H. Roseveare concluded a very successful evening.
