WILD-FOWL IN CAPTIVITY
PERMISSION NECESSARY That it is illegal to keep or rear wild-fowl without the permission of the Minister of Internal Affairs is not common knowledge. Last evening the question came before the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, when a letter was received from a Tirau resident, asking for advice as to the steps necessary before he could legally keep wild-fowl in captivity. It was decided to inform the writer that he would have to communicate direct with the Minister of Internal Affairs, but that, subject to the birds meeting with the approval of the council, it would give the application its support.
