The Fire Board advised that It was taking control of the Avondale area, but did not propose taking over tlie land, buildings, plant or equipment, the leasing of which would be subject to negotiation. * . * Tutanekai Road, Grey Lynn, is to be merely repaired, pending the time when it can be excavated and a proper surface put down. * * * A suggestion, suported by the city engineer, that the council should contribute half the cost of a footbridge over Arch Hill Gully at Morrin Street, near Newton West School, was sent to the Works Committee. “There is too much feeling over this hoarding business,” remarked Cr. Ailum. “We are accused of making fish of one and flesh of another. It wants investigating.”
