Potatoes are well supplied on the spot and selling through store at from £6 15s to £7. During the past week there has been a noticeable falling off in demand which, to a certain extent, is hard 1:o explain, tis the new season’s tubers will not be sufficient for all requirements for a few week* yet. Merchants are showing a disinclination to buy in the Soith on an f.o.b. basis, and prefer, for the most part, to satisfy their requirements from consignments as they arrive. The new season’s tubers are coming on the market in increasing supplies, but the quality generally is .poor, and the market ftill holds it up to about 3d a lb fer the best.
