WEIGHT-LIFTING RECORDS

npHE world and six British-weight-lifting records were created at Llanelly , Wales, recently. Herman Garner, with a two-hand-swing-and-jerk lift of 270%1b. broke his own previous record by 20llb. W. H. James (Llanally) eight stone British amateur champion. made a world record at his weight with a righthand dead lift of 2811 b. and also a world's record for a one-hand snatch of 1051 b. Jack Hayes (London) beat three British eight-stone records for a twosnatch at 1331 b., for a two-hand-clean-from-behind-neck lift at 1791 b., and a two-har'd-clean-and-jerk lift at 1891 b.
