“THE FRONTIERSMAN”
COMING TO STRAND An exquisite blend of history and colourful romance is an apt description ol! “The Frontiersman,” Tim McCoy’s new historical outdoor picture which comes to the Strand Theatre on Thursday, and in which some of the most stirring episodes of frontier days are vividly reproduced. One of the big historical incidents in the new picture is the punitive expedition commanded by General Andrew Jackson, following the terrible massacre at Fort Mimms, Alabama, where the military garirson and all the settlers and colonists, numbering approximately five hundred, were killed and scalped by the Creek Indian;*. The high spot of this dramatic sequence is Jackson’s crushing defeat of the Creeks at Horse Shoe Bend, where he killed almost a thousand, warriors, thus destroying the Creek menace that was a thorn in the side c*f the white colonists of the South. Tim McCoy, who was last seen in “Winners of the Wilderness,” hits the role of a cavalry officer attached to General Jackson’s staff, and excels himself as a brave soldier and gallant lover. Claire Windsor lias the leading feminine role, which she interprets with grace and charm. Louise Lorraine is seen as the heart-breaker who precipitates a duel between McCoy and another man because of her fickleness. Tom O’Brien, the famous “Bud” of “The Big Parade,” has a prominent par* and Russell Simpson. Lillianne Leighton and Frank Hagney Eire included in the carefully chosen cast.
