AIRPLANE CLUBS USEFUL
SUPPORT IN BRITAIN MAKING FLYING POPULAR f ritish Wireless—Press Assn.—Copyright RUGBY, Sunday. The Air Ministry has decided to grant subsidies for three years, up to £2,000 s year each, to four additional light aeroplane clubs. Similar assistance is already being given to six clubs in various parts of the country. The four new opes are the Bristol, Norwich, Nottingham and Scottish Clubs. The basis of the subsidies is payment hy results. £SO being handed to a. club for each member who gains a flying proficiency certificate. Each club must be self-supporting. The scheme is proving successful in the training of pilots and in popularising flying generally.—A. and N.Z.
