VIENNA EARTHQUAKE. An earthquake shock was fe.t in Vienna on Sunday. People left the theatres and restaurants and clocks were stopped. DEATH DUTIES OF £ 8,000,000.—1 t is estimated that the death duties payable on the estate of the late Earl of Iveagh, the head of the Dublin brewingfirm of Guinness, who died on October 7, may amount to about £ 8,000,000. —A. and N.Z. RECORD ALTITUDE. —Tli e wellknown woman aviator, Mrs.. Eliott Lynn, in a 90 h.p. Avro-Avian airplane, reached an altitude of 19.000 f :, with a passenger. BRITISH LEGION.—EarI Haig appeals to representatives of ex-service-men throughout the Empire to take part in a pilgrimage which the British Legion is planning to the French battlefields in 1928. A number of widows and other relatives of fallen soldiers will be invited to join the pilgrimage. —Sun. AMERICAN WHEAT HARVEST.— The United States Agricultural Department has estimated the spring wheat prduction at 313,771,000 bushels, or 15.4 bushels an acre, and the quality at 88.1 per cent, (normal), compared with a harvest of 205,000,000 bushels last year. The department estimated the yield of all wheat at 866,538,000 bushels, compared with 833,000,000 in 1926. —A. and ...Z.
