MOKAU RIVER BRIDGED

WORK COMPLETED OPENS ON THURSDAY (Special to THE SUN.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. VO longer will motorists have to cross the Mokau River by punt. The new bridge will oe open for traffic on Thursday. The tar-sealing of the traffic surface is practically the only work still to be done, and this will be co n pie ted on Wednesday afternoon. The official opening, which was to have coincided with the completion of this important work, has been postponed indefinitely, on account of the present state of health of the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams. According to Mr. T. M. Ball, district Public Works; engineer in charge of the erection of the bridge, there will be no function at present. The barriers will simply he removed on Thursday morning and traffic allowed to pass.
