T.B. SHELTER TENDERS
CITY MAY OBJECT
“SEPARATE HUTS FOR EACH”
The Hospital Board has called tenders for the construction of four 4cubicle huts, to be built on the new area chosen for the T.B. cases at present in the Domain. The City Council may object. Cr. Alice Basten has given notice to move at Thursday’s meeting of the City Council: “That in view of the fact that the Hospital Board is calling tenders for lour 4-cubicle huts to be erected on che site in the Domain belonging to the Auckland City Council, the Hospital Board be notified that the conditions under which permission was given to occupy this ground must be specifically adhered to, namely, separate huts for each of the T.B. soldier patients then in the Domain shelters, and a similar provision for four T.B. soldier patients then in the Epsom infirmary; each hut to be destroyed as vacated by the occupant; these conditions being imposed to determine the occupancy of the site automatically, and to obviate the possibility of the establishment of a permanent T.B. depot on this ground. ’
