WATER COMMISSION
SHARING THE COST ONEHUNGA OBJECTS At last night’s meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council, a letter was received from the Director-General of Health stating that unless the council paid its share of the cost of the Water Commission he would ha.ve to refer the matter to the Crown Solicitors for legal proceedings. It was decided to refer the question to the local member of Parliament, Mr. W. J. Jordan, and also the Prime Minister. The Mayor, Mr. W. C. Coldicutt, remarked that if one borough was allowed to set up a commission and then drag in other boroughs to pay part of the cost, there was no saying where it would end.
