Curzon-Siggers arrived ! last evening by the Rotorua from i England. Lieutenant-Colonel I. T. Standish C.M.G-. D. 5.0.. arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning. Captain H. H. Pharazyn was a passenger by the Rotorua, which arrived from England last evening. Mr. A. SS. Wansbrough. designing engineer, New Zealand Railways, arrived frcm Wellington by the Limited this! me rninS;Dr. T. Gray. Inspector-General of Mental Hospitals, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. W. W. Rogers, general manager of the Anchor Shipping Company, Nel•o.i. Is at present in Auckland on business. Mr. H. C. Chambers, of Hawke's Bay who arrived from England bv the Rotorua yesterday, will leave for Hastings by to-night’s express. Captain L. V. Wells, D. 5.0., R.N., arrived by the Rotorua last evening from England. He will take the command of H.M.S. Diomede. Mr. David Hebenton, organiser for the Reform Party, who has been staying at the Hotel Cargen, left Auckland last night for Wellington. Mr. G. A. U. Tapper, ex-manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, returned last evening by the Rotorua from an extended * trip abroad. Lord Walcran arrived from England last evening by the Rotorua to join the statY of his Excellency the Governor-General. Sir Charles Fergusson. Captain V. C. White Parsons, of the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived from England last evening by tbs Rotorua. Mr. J. H. C. Bond, Dominion superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, is staying at the Northern Club. Mr. D. A. Aiken, general manager of the Union Company, and Mrs. Aiken, are at present in Auckland. Mr. W. E. Hancock is also with Mr. Aiken. Sir William Brunton, former Lord Mayor of Melbourne, is staying at the Hotel Cargen. He arrived from England by the Aorangi this morning. Mr. F*. K. Hunt, S.M., on behalf of the city magistrates, bade farewell to Sergeant D. Calwell at the Police Court to-day. Sergeant Calwell, -who has been transferred to Waihi, frequently prosecuted in the Police Court. The H n v. F. J. Shaw, who has been appointed to take the place of the late Rev. Mr. Huffenden at the Congregational Church. Timaru, arrived in Auckland by the Rotorua yesterday. Mr. Shaw was educated at Western College. Bristol.
Sir Victor Wilson! president of the Motion Pictures Distributing Association, who has been visiting the South, will be a passenger for Sydney by the Aorangi to-morrow. Formerly Minister of Markets and Migration :in the Bruce Ministry, Sir Victor was defeated at the last election.
Mr. R. T. Boyt, who is in charge of » party of boys who arrived in New Zealand by the Rotorua yesterday under the Church of England’s Empire Settlement Scheme, has only recently completed his training for the ministry in Wales.
