BRITANNIA
“THE KID BROTHER”
In “The Kid Brother,” Harold Lloyd’s latest Paramount release, which is being shown at the Britannia Theatre tonight, he is said to have another of those sure-fire laugh-g€tters. reminiscent in theme of "Grandma's Boy,’’ with its inferiority complex theme. If it were only half as good as that production it would still be a knockout. Lloyd’s five-year record is one which defies comparison from any source. Starting with “Grandma’s Boy” he produced “Dr. Jack,” “Safety Last,” “Why Worry?” “Girl Shy,” “Hot Water,” “College Days” and “For Heaven’s Sake.” For the last three years, beginning with “Girl Shy,” he has been producing independently. Basically, Lloyd’s success in the feature comedy held may be summed up in his own few words: "Make them funny, but keep them human.” He led the way out of the rut of old comedy hokum by giving the screen stories that had logic and reason, not just a hodge-podge of slapstick.
