GRAND

“CALIFORNIA” The American conquest of California has been made the basis of a historical romantic film by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in which Tim McCoy is starred and which is now being shown at the Grand Theatre. Dorothy Sebastian has the featured feminine role of a fiery senorita. Unheard-of a year ago, McCoy has gradually worked his way into the hearts of millions of theatre-goers and now stands out as one of the most rofigures of the screen. In selecting McCoy as a historical Western star, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer took a long chance on bringing to the screen a man unknown as an actor, and one who had never before appeared in pictures. That Louis B. Mayer must have considered the matter well before signing McCoy to such an important contract is evidenced by the star's success in “California.”
