MERCANTILE MARINE OFFICERS’ CLUB

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING Those who go down to the sea in charge of ships have a club, the first annual meeting of which was held on Saturday evening. As the president, Captain E. Dorling, could not be present, Mr. M. Paterson acted in his place. The register contained the names of 153 members and there were 14 applications in hand. Captain Dorling was re-elected president and Mr. M. Paterson vice-presid€;nt. Mr. R. D. Cooper was also elcjcted a vice-president. Captain W. Ross, patron, and Captain Dorling were both made life members for their services. Mr. F. C. Pasco has begun his duties as secretary. The club decided to extend its activities and to extend a welcome; to officers and engineers of all the overseas ships.
