TRADED WHILE BANKRUPT

PORK BUTCHER FACES HIS CREDITORS Press Association. WELLINGTON. Friday For continuing to trade while an undischarged bankrupt. a Wellington pork butcher. John Henry Whitaker, was taken to task at a meeting of liis creditors to-day. The evidence stated that bankrupt had filed a petition at Gisborne about 11 years ago. and had again failed at Hastings, about five years ago. when he suffered imprisonment for breaches of the Bankruptcy Act. In spite of these warnings he had started business in Wellington. He again throw himself upon the mercy of his creditors. It was decided to place the papers before the Crown solicitor. The amount owing to unsecured creditors was shown as £346 Is 6d. and the only assets were stock in trade valued at £SO, a deficiency of £216 Is 6d.
