TIVOLI

“TOO MANY CROOKS”

Mildred Davis returns to the screen for the first time in four years at the Tivoli Theatre, in Paramount’s “Too Many Crooks,” a Fred Newmeyer production filled with comedy, gasps, and thrills. Lloyd Hughes is co-featured with her in the photo-play, as are George Bancroft and El Brendel, the funny Swede.

The story concerns a wealthy Long Island society miss, who believer her self capable of writing a crook play superior to any showing on Broadway. To prove her ability, she engages a quartet of noted crooks to visit her home in order that she may study their habits.

Others in the cast of the film, which was adapted from E. J. Rath’s novel by Rex Taylor, are Betty Francisco, Gayne Whitman, and John St. Polis.
