FATAL QUARREL

AN ITALIAN MURDERED DESPERATE FIGHT By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. MELBOURNE, Thursday. An Italian fern-cutter, Antonio Excrecti, was found in a lonely gully at Abshott, Gippsland, shockingly mutilated, with two bloodstained fernhooks beside him. He died before Lie could be removed to hospital. The ganger in charge of a number of Italians engaged in fern-cutting stated he missed Excrecti and another Italian. He searched for them, and came upon deceased. It is surmised that the two men entered the gully, and after a dispute a desperate fight with fernhooks occurred. The police have arrested a man.— A. and N.Z.
