Serious Smash Averted. A race train to Kurow yesterday collided with a. motor-car driven by Mr. R. Baird, of Oamaru. The car driver’s vision was obscured by a cutting. The prompt action of the enginedriver in applying the brakes resulted only in damage to the front of the car.—Press Association.
