LAW’S LONG ARM
STRETCHES BACK FIVE YEARS (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, To-day. An offence which, occurred five years ago at Ohaupo was heard by MrWyvern Wilson, S.M., at the Te Awamutu Court on Thursday. Frank Pitty was charged by the police with alleged disorderly conduct on licensed premises at Ohaupo. Constable Doyle prosecuted. Pitty did not appear. L. W. Peckitt, taxi driver, gave evidence to the effect that when assisting in his father's hotel at Ohaupo on December 12, 1922, Pi tty came in and asked for a small bottle of beer. Witness suggested a small glass of beer as accused was under the influence of liquor. He was ordered out as he became abusive and threatened, to fight, causing a disturbance. A fine of £l and costs was imposed. On a charge of using obscene lan--5f CUSed was fined £5 * in default seven days.
