“MODERN COMMANDMENTS”

ESTHER RALSTON’S STAR ROLf Itoscoe Karns, considered one of the most finished comedians in motion pictures, was added to the cast of Paramount’s “Xen Modern Commandments,” which stars Esther Ralston. Karns was given the important role of the stage manager in the story of back-stage life. Karns, a veteran of the legitimate stage, held down a like position in stock companies years ago in San Diego, Phoenix, Arizona and Oakland, California. He joins a cast of real, old troupers consisting of Romaine Fielding, Maude Traux, El Brendel, Rose Burdick, Arthur Hoyt and Jocelyn Lee, all of whom learned the rudiments of acting while “on the road.” Neil Hamilton has the masculine lead opposite Miss Ralston in the production. which was directed by Dorothy Arzner.
