RUGBY FOOTBALL AT NORTHERN WAIROA

The curtain will be rung down on the Northern Wairoa football season on Saturday next, when Pukehuia will defend their right to the Costello Shield against Tangowahine, winners of hte senior championship. As Pukehuia hti successfully defended the shield ag&inst the other leading teams a great same is anticipated. This will be a fitting climax to a particularly busy season. A slight error occurred in THE SUN'S account of the match played at Whangarei between Whangarei and Northern Wairoa. It was stated that Northern Wairoa. being defeated in this match, had lost the Harding Shield. The statement was incorrect, the* match b*ing merely a friendly game between tha two teams mentioned, in aid of the Auckland Rugby Union.
