Th 4 building inspector reported that during the last fortnight nine building nerraita bad been issued, four for dwellings valued at £3,675, four for alterations valued at £l4O, one for removing a housa £55, making a total of £3, §7O. Since April 1 the value of new buildings for which permits have been issued total £78,668, including 64 dwellings. The engineer estimated that the cost of •t stcrm-water drainage scheme in the Kaniurly Road area would approximate £2,8C0. Th.i board decided to call tenders for the work, which includes drains in lUnfurly and Market Roads, Halsey Avenue and Williamson Street. In reply to a letter from the Auckland Carriers* Association asking the board to consider the re-classiflcation of its road.M, it wai decided that the board ahotiia adhere to its present scheme. The engineer reported that footpath formation in Rock field Road is completed to Oranga .'.venue. Formation of the natf in Oreeupark Road is being pushed ahei-3 and similar work commenced in rampbel! Roj d and Green Lane. Levelling ror lawns has been carried out In Maingakiekk Avenue, Wheturangi Road, c*n pbell Ron d and Kowhai Road. Church street path has been dressed with scoria from the Onehunga boundary to Neilson Street, and Campbell Road and Green Lane have been scarified and** patched with metal chips.
