The Victorian Amateur Athletic Association is making efforts to induce two British athletes, Lord Burghley and G. A. Lowe, and the German, Dr. O. Peltzer, to visit Victoria in February next, when the State championships will be held. —A. and N.Z. Reed. noon. LONDON, Wednesday. Lord Burghley and Lowe regret their inability to accept the Melbourne invitation to visit Australia. Lord Burghley’s military duties with the Grenadier Guards is one immediate obstacle. They also point out the proximity of the Olympic Games. —Sun.
