MISHAP AT HOSPITAL

FALL FROM FIRST FLOOR WOMAN PATIENT INJURED A woman patient at the Auckland Public Hospital had a narrow escape from death to-day. She either fell or jumped from a window on the first floor and landed on the concrete pavement below The distance was about IS or 20ft and the force of the fall injured the woman's body. She is badly bruised, and it is thought that some bones may be broken. This afternoon she was reported to be in a very serious condition. The woman was a patient in Ward 4 and it is thought that she had been depressed for some time.
