Bishop Cherrington returned to Hamilton this morning from a visit to Christchurch. Dr. Pettit, who has been visiting the South, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. H. O. Nolan returned to Auckland this morning from the South by the Limited. Mr. Raynar Hyne, Director of Education for Tonga, is staying at the Waverley Hotel. Mr. J. W. Collins, secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, is staying at the Star Hotel. Lieutenant-Colonel H. C. Hemphill, commanding officer of the North Auckland Mounted Rifles, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces longservice medal. Captain J. G. Wales, who lias recently been appointed adjutant to the Jirst Battalion of the Auckland Regiment, left for Wellington by train last evening. He will take up his new duties on his return.
