TRIP TO AUSTRALIA? PROPOSALS OUTLINED At last, evening’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auck - land* Football Association, Mr. R. Hariison, president of the New'Zealand -Primary Schools Football Association, ini.de recommendations for a proposed tour of Australia by a New Zealand primary schoolboys’ team. Mr. Harrison said that the cost of the tc uc would b e approximately £4OO. and if ifc took place it would be some time in August ruoxt year. He recommended «h it the four principal States shouJi l*e included in the tour, and that it .should extend over a period of seven 'weeks. It was |i so suggested by Mr. Harri - son J hat the manager and assistant manager of the te*im be primary school teachers, '.vho would know how to contrDl the boys. The tour would be rcallj an educational trip, with football forming a ptfeirt, and an endeavour would be .made to have lectures arranged for the boys instead of the usual entertain merit and receptions. Tho permission of the Minister of Education- 'would have to be obtained before the tour could take place. DETAILS OF PROPOSAL At least 18 pilayers would be required, who would be chosen from the four main centres, as follows: Auckland, 5; Wellington, 5; Canterbury, 4. Otago, 4. The greatest care should bo taken in regard to the selection of the L-oys fc«r the tour, and all players should be under 15 years of age on June 30, 19C8. ENGLISH TROPHY DISPUTE In a letter ueeeived from the New Zealand Council, the Auckland Association was requested to forward more particulars regarding the dispute over the drawn ganae with Canterbury in the English Trjophy competition. It was stated thajt Mr. M. Tliornilee. referee in the gatne, ajrd officials of the Canterbury Association denied Auckland’s assertion tlhat they were advised regarding the playing of extra time. It was decided that further statements from Mr. P. Neeaham and Mr. Batty should be forwarded to the council The draw for the second round c-f the Falcon Cup competition was made as follows North Shore or Tramwaysv. Thistle, Ponsouby v. Onehunga. Mr. A. TV. Ridjiolls, reaferee in the Tramways-North Shore match last Saturday, reported that he had ordered off Simpson and Simms, of the Tramways team . After hearing evidence : t was decided to reprimand both players. It was decided to impose a fine on any team which failed to be on the field at the appointed time for the game to commence.
