AUCKLAND CHALLENGES FOR WILDING SHIELD
Auckland has decided to challenge Wellington for the Anthony Wilding Memorial Shield, the interprovincial trophy of lawn tenm*. Proposing tha challenge at the meeting of the Auckland Association last night, Mr. E. W. Griffiths s, id that the province should be aide to get a good team this year, for the Dominion doubles champions, Knott and Sturt, and Bartleet, who was at the top of his ferm last season would probably be able to go south. The challenge could bo played either after or before the New Zealand championS ’-The delegatus decided to challenge for the shield and to leave the arrangements of dates and personnel in the hands of a subcommittee. unsrwzi'w ********** 1.
