WOOD-WORK.
AND VARNISH PROTECTION It is false economy to fail to protect woodwork with finishes designed to preserve it, as far as humanly possible, from the attacks of wj ter and weather. This quality of waterproof ness in a finish is of tremendous importance to every home owner. Who hasn’t returned to find a leaky radiator creating havoc to the floor? Who does not know the agony of an overturned glass of water or au overflowing tea kettle on •he table? AH such anxiety is needlets. For it is entirely possible to obtain varnishes that will stand all such tests if care is taken to make sure that they are thoroughly waterproof. The advantages of waterproof protection for modern homes are therefore obvious. Water in one or another of its many forms—rain, sleet, hail, snow, icc dampness—is tne greatest destructive agent to your woodwork. It cause* rust and decay. Its activities never cease. Yet none of these attacks will have power to damage or inar the beauty of woodwork that is finished with the proper waterproof material. This feature of waterproof ness is obtainable not only in varnish, but in any desired colour. For example, you can obtain varnish in transparent colours that stain and varnish woodwork in one operation. Also you can procure: waterproof varnishes combined with solid covering colours tnat are applied just like paint, covering the surface completely, hut having the added advantage of waterproof ness and higher lustre.
