Phil Scott, the British heavy-weight champion, who is going to America to box in the eliminating rounds for the right to challenge Tunney, just missed the Olympic boat train at Waterloo. He hired a motor-car and reached Southampton in time to jump on the steamer as the gangway was withdrawn. Scott will meet Sharkey, Tom Heeney, of New Zealand, and Paolino in the eliminating fights.—A. and N.Z. COLOGNE, Monday. The Queensland boxer, Max Gornitk, defeated Hugo Izgaard, the leading German heavy-weight, on points in a match to-day.—A. and N.Z. LONDON, Monday. The boxer, Curley, who will sail for Australia to-morrow, knocked out Fermand Verhagen in a match in the third round.—A. and N.Z.
