WELL-KNOWN TEACHER DEAD
LATE MR. W. H. WORSLEY Mr. William Harold Worsley, who died on Sunday at the age of 62, had a record of over 40 years’ service as a teacher under the Auckland Education Board. Born in Manchester, he came to New Zealand as a youth of 17 and commenced in the teaching profession as a pupil teacher at the Parnell School in 1882. After teaching at Waipipi, Pakuranga, Mangapai, and Waitangi schools Mr. Worsley was appointed head teacher at the Paterangi school in 1890, and later held a similar position at W ark worth. In 1900 he was appointed headmaster of the Hamilton West School and held this position until 1922. when he retired on superannuation. Mr. Worsley is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter.
