LATE REV. E. H. TAYLOR
Well-known in the Thames district as pastor of the Church of Christ for 40 years, and as representative for Thames in Parliament from 1909 to 1911, the Rev. Edmund Harvey Taylor has died in Cornwall, England, at the age of 72. Coming to New Zealand in 1882, Mr. Taylor identified himself with the temperance movement, and was a foundation member of the New Zealand Alliance. For 11 years he was Grand Chief Templar of the Independent Order of Good Templars, and was also president and secretary of the Prohibition League, besides serving as a member of the Thames Licensing Committee. For a number of years Mr. Taylor lived in Auckland, and was associated with the Morningside Congregational Church. He is survived by two daughters. * » - ft
