ROTOWARO MINE IDLE

DEATH LEVY ISSUE HUNTLT, To-day. The Rotowaro mine is idle to-day. The miners held another stop-work meeting this morning over the death levy of 2s 6d a member, when it was understood that finality was reached as to the levy itself. A number of the men maintain that Government and employers should also assist. The men having been warned that if work was not started at 8.15 a.m. lamps would not be available, and the meeting not having been concluded at that hour, the employees returned to their homes and the mine is idle today. Work will be resumed as usual tomorrow.
