It is announced that Tom Heeney, the New Zealand heavy-weight boxer, is engaged to meet Sharkey, the prominent heavy-weight title contender, on November 18. If Heeney is victorious he will be qualified to meet Jack Dempsey, and the winner of that match will probably challenge Gene Tunney for the world's title. Before the Sharkey match, Heeney is scheduled to fight Johnny Lisko in Detroit on October 26. That match Is considered to be unimportant. la the heavy-weight boxing match in which Heeney knocked out Jim Maloney, of Boston, in the first round one minute and 17 seconds after the men had entered the ring, Maloney dropped Sat on his face for the full count efter the first few blows from a terrific right-hander to the chic, and had to be revived with iced water and smelling salts. — a. and N.Z.
