MANY NEW PURCHASES DUE IN AUCKLAND SOON Further orders have been placed in London, India and South Africa for animals for the Auckland Zoo. The new list is a fairly comprehensive one. The English shipment will be a pair of jaguars, a female ocelot, two pairs of scarlet ibis, a pair of grey-

necked and a pair of black-necked crown cranes, together with a young brown bear. Calcutta will supply flamingoes, and cranes, besides some 48 monkeys. A pair of wild-bredMion cubs are now on their way from South Africa. Smith, Wylie, Ltd., have presented a South African antelope; which has yet to be transported from Sydney. Much of the new stock should be here by Christmas.
