ASSISTANCE FOR DESTITUTE SOLDIERS
Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. At to-day’s meeting of the War Relief Association, the following resolution was carried unanimously: “In view of the increasing demands for support by destitute returned soldiers, it is a direction to the finance committee that restriction must be placed on advances by way of loan, and that in future no such advances shall be made except to disabled soldiers suffering economic loss as the result of their physical impairment, such advancement not to exceed £I,OOO in any one case for the acquisition of residential property only.”
