FOR ADOLPHE MENJOU THEIR FAVOURITE STAR Adolphe Menjou was awarde<l the decision recently in a contest conducted by Japanese film directors and players to discover their favourite American star. In order that Menjou should know how well his Nipponese co-workers think of him, Miss Komako Sunado, a former Hollywood girl who went to Ja pan, became a motion picture actress and recently returned to Hollywood for a vacation, was entrusted with gifts from Japan for the .American player. “That is how it happens that Adolphe’s “iye” is enriched now by a “hagoita,” a “kasa,” a “tenogui” and a “hapicoat.” They were all brought to him by Miss Sunado. Those interest-ing-sounding articles are respectively a doll, an umbrella, a brow band and a coolie coat.
