The annual meeting: of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative to-clay adopted the report with little discussion. The directors announced a dividend of six per cent, to first preference shareholders, and after paying this £22,000 will be carried forward to profit and loss •ccount. Ttie chairman said he hoped during the eoning year to pay dividends on A and B shares also.
FLAX-GRADING RETURNS
INCREASED ACTIVITY An Increase in the amount of flax milled la the Auckland province continues to be recorded in the grading: returns. Figures for the month of September show an all-round increase on those for the corresponding period of last year. There is still, however, a disappointingly high percentage of lower grade flax compared with the better grades put through. Figures for the month are as follow, those for the corresponding period of last year being given in parenthesis. Hemp. —3ood, fair, 16 (40) bales; high fair, 442 (212); fair, 727 (425); common. (147); rejected, 13 (49); total. 1,200 1910). Tow.— No. 1, 6 bales; No. 2, 274 (165); So. 3. 64 (96); condemned, 4 (18); total, 34* (279). Stripper Slips. —No. 2, 4 (5) bales.
