The French motor-cyclist, Marchand, claims that he has broken the world’s speed records for 50 miles and 100 kilometres (about 62 miles) on the Montlhery track. On a 550 c.c. Motosacoche machine he covered the first distance in 29min 37.855ec., and the seednd in 33min. 26.495ec.—A. and N.Z.Sun.
