Too Many If the Canterbury Rugby League accepts all the challenges for games that it has received, all the League grounds and half of the Rugby grounds will be in use on Saturday, October 1. Challenges have been received from Wellington, Buller, Inangahua, and from the Greymouth Club. The final of the Thacker Shield competition also is to be played on that day, the last playing Saturday of the season. Wellington, however, wants its match played in Wellington. The reason for the League’s being so short of playing Saturdays is that in making out its draw early in the season it allowed for too many competition matches.
