THE PIAKO UNION (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AROHA, Thursday. At last night’s meeting of the Piako Rugby Union, O. Cleave was disqualified for 12 months for having played in the club final in defiance of the union’s ruling. It is understood that the Terrier Club, for which Cleave played, has decided to appeal to the New Zealand Union against the decision. The protest lodged by the Springs Club was ruled out of order, as it was not accompanied by the necessary deposit. In view of the Thames Valley-Auckland match on Saturday, it was decided that no games be played in Te Arolia on Saturday. REFEREES FOR FINAL TRIALS WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr. H. J. McKenzie, Wairarapa, has been appointed referee for the North V. South Island match on Saturday, and Mr. E. Epsom, Canterbury, for the Possibles v. Probables match on Wednesday. WAIPA V. MAN lAPOTO (From Out Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The Waipa junior representative team to meet the Maniapoto junior representatives on Saturday will be chosen from the following; F. Hagen. G. Hagen, H. Johnson, W. Murray, R. Parish, P. Foley. R. Grace, I. Johnson, W Clarke, A. Brill. J. Martin. J. Turney A. Jamieson. X. Cruickshank, R. Jackson, F. Johnson, A. Gregory.
